Urban Land Institute Project ManagementSeattle, WA
Balancing scope, schedule, resources, and deliverables—the technical basics of effective project management. Mission focus, exceptional learning experience, and expectations for fifteen high value-add events—these are the results Stephen delivered as project manager for the 3500-attendee Urban Land Institute’s 2017 Spring Meeting in Seattle.
Three days of events, tours, and presentations at over two dozen venues benefitting industry leaders assembled from around the globe. Stephen led the program from inception to execution over six months to achieve consistently high-quality and thorough programs. He provided deep knowledge and creative approaches to the technical complexities of down-to-the-minute planning, including streetcars, cruise boats, kayaks, other multimodal challenges. In all, Stephen orchestrated a truly premiere showcase of regional destinations, behind-the-scenes tours, and innovative urban development projects. He served as the bridge to execute flawless experiences, connecting scores of local host volunteers and professional event staff across multiple time zones, who lacked knowledge or presence before the Meeting.
Managing multiple individual project budgets and schedules, Stephen oversaw simultaneous execution of multiple events. More, his project management success in this highly praised program required navigating political sensitivities and carefully “managing up” among multiple strong personalities. The results well served the world’s leaders in urban development, real estate, design and planning who convened in Seattle for ULI’s Spring Meeting.
